Nope. Zero. Nada.
All Owala Living® lunch containers, snack boxes, cups, cutlery, and stainless steel straws are made from food-grade, safe, and BPA-free materials.

Can I put hot food in the lunch containers?

That depends on which one you have.

Vacuum Thermal Lunch Containers & Heat Lunch Boxes:
Designed for warm meals. They keep food hot for hours and are perfect for soups, rice, pasta — you name it.

Snack Bento Boxes & Silicone Folding Cups:
Best for room-temperature or cold foods. Not recommended for very hot liquids.

General Note:
Use caution when handling hot items — your fingers will thank you.

Are Owala Living® containers and accessories dishwasher safe?

Yes… mostly.

Stainless Steel Lunch Containers:
The lid is top-rack dishwasher safe.
The container itself can be dishwashed, but we strongly recommend hand-washing to protect the finish.

Snack Boxes, Silicone Cups, Stainless Steel Straw, Cutlery Set:
Top-rack dishwasher safe — easy and fuss-free.

Can I microwave Owala Living® products?

Short answer: Please don’t.

Stainless Steel Containers & Straws:
Absolutely not microwave-friendly. Unless you enjoy sparks… which we assume you don’t.

Silicone Cups & Bento Boxes:
Microwaving is strongly discouraged. Sealed containers can build pressure, causing contents to splatter or lids to pop.

Super easily.
Just choose the item you want, select the customization option, and upload your design or text through our online tool. You’ll see a preview before checkout so you know exactly what you’re getting. Clean, simple, stress-free.

Does Owala Living® offer corporate gifting or bulk customization?

Not quite yet — but we’re working on it!
We know teams love matching gear (and honestly, who wouldn’t want their whole office showing up with matching eco-friendly lunchware?). We’re developing a bulk gifting portal so you can place large-scale custom orders in one smooth move.

For now, smaller customized batches (up to about 15 units) are totally doable through our customization tool.

Can I just place multiple small custom orders to reach a larger quantity?

If you’re engraving: absolutely.
Engraving stays consistent across orders, so multiple small batches work fine.

But color printing? That’s a different story.
Small separate orders can lead to slight color variation between batches, and we want every single item to look perfect — so we don’t recommend splitting larger printed orders into multiple purchases.

How often should I wash my Owala Living® lunchware?

How often do you wash your dishes?
Daily is a pretty solid plan… but hey, you do you.

How do I clean the different Owala Living® products?

Owala Living® products are made to keep your life simple — including cleanup time.
Here’s the breakdown:

Lunch Containers (Stainless Steel)

  • Lids: Top-rack dishwasher safe.
  • Container body: Best hand-washed with warm, soapy water to protect the finish.
  • Tip: A soft sponge works best — no harsh scrubbing needed.

Snack Bento Boxes & Plastic Parts

  • Top-rack dishwasher safe.
  • Easy to wash and dries quickly.

Silicone Collapsible Cups

  • Fully dishwasher safe.
  • If odors appear (hello, curry leftovers), soak in warm water with a little baking soda.

    Reusable Cutlery Set
  • Dishwasher safe — toss it in and forget about it.
  • Case can be washed by hand or on the top rack.

    Stainless Steel Straw
  • Dishwasher safe.
  • For deep cleaning, use a straw brush to get into the nooks.

General Tip: Soaking stubborn spots in warm water + vinegar works wonders.

Can I freeze Owala Living® products?

Stainless Steel Containers

Technically? Yes.
Should you? Ehh… not our top recommendation.

Our insulated containers are designed to maintain temperature — freezing the outside won't magically freeze the inside. If you want icy-cold contents, adding ice works better (and faster).

Plastic Bento Boxes & Silicone Parts

Plastic snack boxes: Not recommended. Plastic becomes brittle when frozen.

Silicone cups: Safe to freeze, but allow space for expansion.

Golden Rule again: If you’re freezing anything, leave room at the top and keep lids open — your food expands (science!).

Orders & Warranty

How can I check, update, change, or cancel my Owala Living® order?

We totally understand — wrong color, wrong item, or a “clicked too fast” moment… it happens.

If you placed your order within the last 10 minutes, there’s a chance we can still make adjustments. Just contact us during business hours and we’ll try our best to stop the order before it ships.

If it’s been a bit longer, your order is probably already moving through the fulfillment process, meaning changes may no longer be possible.

But don’t panic — you can still submit a return request once your order arrives. We’ll help you sort everything out.

In the meantime, you can check your order status on your confirmation email.

Do Owala Living® products have a warranty?

Absolutely — we proudly offer a 2-year warranty on all Owala Living® lunch containers, cups, cutlery, straws, and other accessories.

If you experience a manufacturing-related issue or something just doesn’t seem right, submit a warranty claim and our team will carefully review your case.

While we’re generous, please note that some things aren’t covered, such as:

  • Accidental drops or dents
  • Damage from improper use
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Using products in ways they were never meant to be used (yes… we’ve seen things)

Not sure if you’re covered?

Submit a claim anyway — we’ll guide you toward the best solution, even if it’s outside the warranty.

What payment methods does Owala Living® accept?

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other common online payment options in Hong Kong.

Cash or check?

Only if you’re planning to hand-deliver it to us personally — and even then, we might laugh first.

Can I request expedited shipping?

Yep. If you need your lunchware in a hurry, select the expedited option at checkout.

What is Owala Living®’s return policy?

Any unused Owala Living® product in its original packaging can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Once we receive your return, we’ll process your refund within 10 business days.

To start a return, just submit a return request.
